Take your nursing career to the next level with New England Institute of Technology’s ASN to MSN – Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program!
»Æ¹ÏÊÓÆµ provides a seamless pathway from associate-level nursing education to earning your Master’s degree and becoming a certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
Our flexible online program (plus one in-person immersion weekend)Ìýempowers you to advance your profession and improve the quality of patient care by taking on more responsibility as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
The ASN to MSN-FNP Bridge Program consists of 11 academic terms of full-time study. The bridge portion spans 3 terms, followed by 8 terms in the FNP program. Each term is 10 weeks long.
Applicants must have an unencumbered RN license or be academically qualified to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam. Students may take up to two terms of courses while they are preparing to take their boards.

- We are currently enrolling for Winter Term of 2026. Classes Begin January 5, 2026. Applications for the ASN to MSN-FNP program are now open. !
- The ASN to MSN-FNP program always starts in Winter Term. Students will take 3 terms of bridge courses (Winter, Spring, Summer) and merge into the MSN program starting in Fall term. The next cohort will enroll in January 2027.
- New England Institute of Technology runs on a rolling admissions basis, but we suggest applying as early as possible to secure your spot in the appropriate start term.

What are the entry requirements for the program?
A candidate for admission to the AS – MSN FNP program must meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must possess an Associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program with a minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0.
- Candidates must hold an unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license or be academically eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam. Proof of a valid, unencumbered RN license from any state in the United States or U.S. territory must be submitted before the beginning of the student’s third term in the program; otherwise, they cannot progress.
- Applicants should complete the enrollment application, which includes a personal statement and a current professional resume or CV, along with a non-refundable application fee. Applications can be submitted online at .
- An official transcript demonstrating completion of an accredited nursing program is required. Accredited institutions must be recognized by NLN, ACEN, CCNE, or NLNCC.
- Applicants must provide a certificate, signed by a physician or healthcare provider, confirming immunizations against measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella. Additionally, candidates must have received a booster dose of tetanus and diphtheria (Tdap) within the last ten years and show proof of having received three doses of the Hepatitis B vaccine or a positive titer. (Other requirements may be determined by the clinical organizations.)
- A current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (BLS Provider) card is also required.

Is the program entirely online?
The courses are offered mainly online however some of the courses require hybrid sessions. The clinical practicum courses and clinical immersion weekend(s) require hands-on training in the classroom/simulation laboratories with an instructor or clinical provider. Students will be notified well in advance of the date and time for the clinical immersion weekend(s).
