Ocean Tech Works offers a regional and collaborative workforce development program aimed at addressing immediate job opportunities in ocean-based careers, in partnership with .

New England Institute of Technology is a higher education partner in this initiative, by offering degree programs in mechanical engineering and electrical technology alongside workforce opportunities in:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electromechanical Engineering
  • Electronics
  • Electrical
  • Robotics
  • and, similarly related fields.

Take advantage of this opportunity to attend school for free while interfacing and potentially interning with an Ocean Tech employer during the 18-month program.

REQUIREMENTS & ELIGIBILITY

1.) Participants must attend 1 of the mandatory info-sessions listed below.

Date: August 5, 2025
Time: 11am-12pm EST

Date: August 12, 2025
Time: 3-4pm EST

2.) Participants must be:

  • residents of Rhode Island, Connecticut, or Massachusetts
  • unemployed or underemployed
  • eligible to complete the FAFSA as a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen ()
  • committed to working in manufacturing and/or to support Ocean Tech partners in RI, CT, or MA
  • able to commit to an 18-month associate degree program
  • interested in mechanical engineering; electronics, robotics, and drones; electromechanical engineering

PROGRAM COST

Tuition is covered, but applicants must fill out the FAFSA form. Details will be provided in the upcoming mandatory information session on August 5 and August 12.
